What does it mean when a crypto payment account starts handing off balances directly to ordinary bank rails? Tangem said on Oct. 13, 2026 that USDC held in Tangem Pay can now be paid out as US dollars to a US bank account. NFA.
What a holder receives
The feature lets any verified Tangem Pay user send USDC on Polygon, Base or Arbitrum out of the app and into a United States bank account. The recipient can be the account holder, another person, or a business. Each transfer is confirmed by tapping the same hardware card already used with Tangem Wallet. The wallet itself remains non-custodial while Tangem Pay operates as a separate payment account inside the same application.
Steps inside the app
Users open the Withdraw screen, select bank transfer, enter the dollar amount and the recipient details, then review the order before sending. The choice between ACH and FedWire sits at the payout stage so the sender decides the rail for that specific transfer. The receiving bank must be located inside the United States even if the named recipient lives elsewhere.
Availability and limits of the service
The option appears in the app only for accounts verified in countries where the feature has been cleared. Once the payout is submitted, the USDC leaves Tangem Pay and arrives at the chosen bank account. No further on-chain steps are required from the user after the card tap.
Moving funds the other way
Holders can also send USDC or USDT from Tangem Pay back into their original Tangem Wallet if they prefer to keep the assets on-chain. The two accounts sit side by side inside the same app, giving users a single place to decide whether balances stay in self-custody or move toward traditional banking rails.
Inside the announcement
Tangem posted the update on X on Oct. 13, 2026 and listed the supported networks and confirmation method in the same message. The help center pages that cover funding and withdrawals spell out the exact sequence of screens and the requirement that the receiving bank sit inside the United States. Both documents treat the bank payout path as a straightforward extension of the existing Pay account rather than a new product line.
What the holder actually controls
A verified user now decides whether a given amount of USDC stays inside Tangem Pay, returns to the non-custodial wallet, or lands in a US bank account as dollars. The hardware card tap remains the single point of final approval for every bank transfer, keeping the same security step that already protects wallet operations. The update therefore adds one more destination without changing how the card or the app already work.
