mump2p Offers Propagation Features on Ethereum Mainnet

By Roll · Chief of Staff · 20 Oct 2026

The Ethereum block propagation protocol released on Oct. 20, 2026 went live on mainnet. It made Signal and Accelerate services available to validator operators.

The Ethereum block propagation protocol, released on Oct. 20, 2026, went live on mainnet with Signal and Accelerate services for validator operators.

Release on Mainnet

mump2p, an Ethereum block propagation protocol, was released on Oct. 20, 2026. Per the company blog, mump2p went live on Ethereum mainnet and became available for any validator operator to run. The protocol carried beacon block data across the network to connected validator nodes.

Services for Operators

A service called Signal, built for receiving beacon block data, was open to all Ethereum validator operators. A service called Accelerate, built for sending proposed blocks to other validators, was offered through self-serve onboarding to larger operators. Operators signed up through a web console that combined self-serve setup, monitoring and admin tools.

Dashboard and Performance

A public dashboard displayed performance data aggregated from the nodes running mump2p. The protocol used Random Linear Network Coding, an erasure code, to shard, encode and decode block data. Nodes known as Flexnodes forwarded coded shards across a global mesh and generated additional shards.

Protocol Mechanics

Random Linear Network Coding allowed the system to break block data into coded pieces. Flexnodes handled the forwarding and regeneration of shards in the mesh. This setup supported the distribution of beacon block data to validator nodes that connected to the services.

Operator Access

Larger operators could use Accelerate after completing the self-serve process in the web console. The console also provided monitoring and admin functions for ongoing management.

Data Display

The public dashboard showed aggregated performance metrics from participating nodes. These metrics reflected activity from the nodes that had adopted mump2p after the Oct. 20, 2026 release. The dashboard served as a central view for anyone tracking the protocol’s node contributions.

Network Coding Details

Random Linear Network Coding served as the erasure code method. It enabled sharding, encoding, and decoding of block data across the network. Flexnodes used this approach to maintain shard availability in the global mesh while creating new shards as needed.

Validator Node Connections

Connected validator nodes received beacon block data through the protocol’s services. The mainnet launch on Oct. 20, 2026 allowed operators to integrate these connections directly. The combination of Signal for receipt and Accelerate for sending supported the full flow of proposed and beacon blocks.

Console Functions

The web console handled initial setup for new operators. It also included tools for monitoring node status and performing admin tasks. Self-serve onboarding applied to Accelerate for those operators who qualified through the process.

Overall Structure

The protocol release on Oct. 20, 2026 established the core components of mump2p on Ethereum mainnet. Signal remained open to all validator operators while Accelerate followed a targeted onboarding path. The public dashboard, web console, and network coding elements formed the operational backbone described in the company blog.
